Escondido Kitchen Remodel Before and AfterOur Process from Start to Finish

Watch this kitchen go from dowdy to dashing right before your eyes!

We’ve documented one of our favorite (and most difficult) kitchen remodeling projects from start to finish just for you! We’ll walk you through our process as we transform the home of Kenneth Greenfield with this Escondido kitchen remodel project.

This full-circle journey will give you an idea of what it is like to work with us, and what kind of outcomes you can expect. Get ready to see how we can turn an old, out-dated kitchen into a contemporary masterpiece!

Some Background

The original kitchen pictured in the before image was built in the 1950s. Because the home was so old, there were a few interesting things about this remodel, including the troublesome appearance of a weight-bearing beam, which we’ll talk about in just a minute.

Our client was unhappy with the size of his current kitchen, and was really hoping for a more open-concept feel. But with that beam standing in the way, he was hard-pressed to find the perfect solution.

He met with several other remodeling companies, but was impressed with the creativity of our design team. Ultimately, we were able to work around the beam, as you can see in the after photo, and still deliver exactly what he had longed for. The kitchen is now the focal point of his home.

He is happily entertaining guests regularly and proud to show off his new and improved kitchen to his friends and family!

Being a 63 year-old home of adobe construction. The kitchen was a real challenge to redesign and reconstruct.

However, beginning with the help of the very creative and personable Shawn Murphy, we were able to craft a project worthy of inclusion into the finest of architectural magazines (which it should be!).

I had interviewed other remodeling companies, but it was the persona of Shawn that convinced me Envision was the way to go.

Indeed, it was a lofty and creative idea to lift the ceiling, create an island, move the appliances to different locations, and open up the kitchen to the entire home, but it certainly took more than just the idea itself to accomplish the task.

It took the talent of superintendent.

Rob Webster, to take the idea and turn it into reality. And, he did it well! Rob’s attitude was always positive.

His philosophy about “anything being possible” matched that of my own. At the same I had never been involved in a home remodel before and was a bit uncertain well the construction would proceed.

However, Rob was trustworthy, and he made me feel secure that the job would be handled correctly. And it was!
